Viola Davis and Regina King lead the winners of the African American Film Critics Association Awards

Viola Davis and Regina King both won trophies at the 12th Annual African American Film Critics Association Awards from the comfort of their homes on Wednesday.

The talented twosome just collaborated on a stirring Black Americana photo essay for the April edition of W Magazine directed by Regina, 50; and starring Viola, 55; and her family.

Davis – who’s only a Grammy away from elite EGOT status – got another one for her mantel, this time the AAFCA Icon Award.

The Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom actress stood out in a bright yellow short-sleeved creation and turquoise earrings as she accepted the honor during the virtual ceremony.

The movie focuses on rising tensions when trailblazing blues singer Ma Rainey and her band gather at a recording studio in Chicago in 1927.

Viola’s Netflix hit also scored best actor for her late, great castmate Chadwick Boseman and director George C. Wolfe won a ‘special achievement salute to excellence.’

It was King who took home the best director prize for her feature directorial debut, One Night In Miami.
