'Bridgerton' Season 3, Part 2 Trailer: Tensions Arise for Polin

Attention, esteemed members of the ‘Ton, the official trailer for Bridgerton season three, part two is here, and it picks up mere seconds after the final moments of part one. (Spoilers ahead!)

“Dearest, gentle reader, last night, an announcement came with great speed,” the Julie Andrews-voiced Lady Whistledown opens the trailer, as shots play of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) announcing the news of their engagement to the Bridgertons.

Over the course of the two-minute look at the upcoming episodes, Eloise (Claudia Jessie) struggles with the news that her brother and former best friend are engaged, considering she knows Pen’s big Whistledown secret and Colin does not. She even goes as far as to threaten to tell Colin the truth if Penelope refuses to do so herself.

“Until he knows the real you, he cannot possibly love you,” Eloise tells Penelope, as the infamous gossip columnist insists, “Colin cannot discover my secret. Whistledown is power.”

From the trailer, it seems like the longer Pen keeps her secret, the more it comes between her and Colin in the days leading up to their wedding.

“Your duty is to cater to Mr. Bridgerton’s dreams,” Polly Walker’s Portia Featherington tells her daughter. “What about my dreams?” Pen asks in response. “Ladies do not have dreams. They have husbands.”

Bridgerton season three, part two, begins immediately after part one, which saw Colin help Pen with her confidence on the marriage mart, leading to her courtship by Lord Debling (Sam Phillips) and eventual engagement to the third Bridgerton brother.

Elsewhere in the season, Eloise befriended Cressida Cowper (Jessica Madsen), John Stirling (Victor Alli) piqued Francesca’s (Hannah Dodd) interest, and Benedict (Luke Thompson) found someone he may want to spend some more time with.
