Celebrations in eastern Turkey as pro-Kurdish mayor-elect reinstated | Protests


A pro-Kurdish politician had his victory in Turkey’s local elections annulled for having spent time in jail, paving the way for the ruling party’s candidate to become mayor. But the electoral board has reinstated him, triggering celebrations in the southeast.
