Japanese equities rise after GDP data revision


Events: The US and Japan host the inaugural meeting of the Defense Industrial Cooperation, Acquisition, and Sustainment Forum in Tokyo. The US and South Korea hold the third meeting of the Nuclear Consultative Group in Seoul.

Central banks: Pakistan’s central bank announces its interest rate decision. It is expected to cut rates by 1 per cent following improved inflation data in May.

Economic data: Japan releases figures on its revised first quarter gross domestic product, current account and trade balance. Malaysia publishes figures on industrial production for May.

Holidays: Financial markets in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan will be closed for the Dragon Boat Festival. Australian markets are shut for the King’s Birthday.
