Hibernian's Nectarios Triantis accidentally leaves team-mates Joe Newell and Will Fish on the floor after knocking them over with quick free-kick


Hibernian’s Nectarios Triantis inadvertently knocked two of his team-mates over after taking a quick free-kick during his side’s 3-1 defeat to Rangers.

Triantis was looking to get his team up the pitch with a free-kick which was taken just inside the Rangers half.

However, his team-mate Joe Newell was in close proximity and the ball ended up hitting him in the face, which led to him falling over.

Many users on social media found the incident hilarious, with one writing on X: ‘One of the best things I’ve ever seen’.

Meanwhile, another added: ‘This is the single greatest thing to happen on a football pitch’.

Another wrote: ‘he couldn’t (do) that again if he tried’.

Furthermore, another user wrote: ‘this looks like a sketch show’.

In addition, another stated: ‘scottish football at its best’. 

James Tavernier had given Rangers the lead before Myziane Maolida equalised for Hibernian in first half stoppage time.

Cyriel Dessers managed to restore Rangers’ advantage before the half time whistle blew, with Rabbi Matondo adding another goal late on.
